SPRING CLEANING  春季大掃除

現在是春天。Jack和Jenny正要大掃除。

Jenny  Those curtains look dirty.

Jack   Can we wash them?

Jeeny  No,. I don’t thinks so. We need to have them dry cleaned.

Jack   You know what I think, Jenny?

Jenny  No, What?

Jack   I think the whole house nmeeds spring cleaning.

Jenny  Great idea. Let’s do it.

Paula  Can I help?

Jack   Of course you canhelp,honey.

Jenny  Now, what about the walls. We could start by washing them.

Jack   No, I think we should have the whole room redecorated.

Jenny  really? I’ve gotten used to this green.

Jack   Well, I’ll never get used to it.

Paula  Can’t we do it ourselves?

Jack   No, I don’t think so, honey. We don’t have the time.

Jenny  I met man the other day who’s a painter and decorator. If you like, I’ll call him and get him to give us a quote.

Jack   That would be great.

Paula  Now, what about the rest of the house?

Jenny  The kitchen is fine. It just needs spring cleaning.

Jack   I think the upstairs is OK, isn’t it?

Jenny  Well, I think we should have all the carpets cleaned professionally.

Jack   OK.

Paula  And my room needs to be repainted.

Jack   Does it?

Paula  yes. Can I have it done?

Jack   Well, you can do it yourself.

Paula  OK.

Jack   Now, what about the garden?

Jenny  Well, I think we need to get the hedge cut.It’s to high to do it ourselves.

Jack  I agree. I’ll see if I can find a gardener or a hanbdyman.

Jenny  Good idea. But we can do the lawn ourselves, can’t we, paula? Paula!

Jack   She’s gone! A great little helper she proved to be!

Assistant  Yes., I’d like to have these curtains cleaned.

Assistant  Thank you. Here’s your ticket. They’ll be ready on Tuesday.

Jenny    Thank you very much.

倆人走出洗衣店， 來到藥店。

Jack    What needs to be done next?

Jenny  I need to go to Boots to get this film developed.

Jack   OK.

Assistant  Yes，please？

Jenny  I’d like to have this film developed and printed, please.

Assistant  Would you like normal-size prints?

Jenny  Yes，please.

Assistant  Do you want our one-hour service?

Jenny  No, thanks. I’m not in a hurry.

Assistant  OK. Here’s your ticket. They’ll be readly on Wednesday.

Jenny   Thank you, Bye.

Assistant  Goodbye.

藥店的事辦完了。
