Letters of Farewell （送別信/告別信）
送別和告別一般是用口頭表達的，但也有一書信方式表達的。有的告別則在口頭表達后再以書信表達。這類書信要在離別前或離別后不久寫出。有的告別信是在回程的飛機上或火車上寫的。
正規(guī)的送別信或告別信比較簡短，用詞嚴謹。私人之間則不限長短，不拘形式。這類書信要求用詞親切，表達出依依惜別之情。送別信或告別信一般包括三個內(nèi)容：
1． 表示惜別之情。
2． 回顧過去相處時取得的成就和建立的友誼。

Dear Mr. Green,
I am so sorry to be unable to see off you and your wife. After 5 years of friendship and especially our close friendship over the last 2 years I am personally very sad to see you leave China.
However, I know it is time you went home and rejoined your family, they must be happy to enjoy a family reunion. I hope one day to meet them and in the meanwhile we shall keep in touch with you as soon as you resume your work at your new post.
With very good wishes for the future and thanks for what you have done for us.
