外國人說“謝謝”似乎比中國人多。中國人很多時(shí)候是在得到大量幫助時(shí)會(huì)說“謝謝”，并且非常誠懇。而西方人表達(dá)“謝謝”的場(chǎng)合更多，如無論是上下級(jí)或者親朋好友或者家庭成員之間也常說“謝謝”，即便是一些小事，甚至分內(nèi)之事。在他們看來，“thank you “只是習(xí)慣性的用語，并不表示多大的謝意。

例如每堂課結(jié)束后，英美學(xué)生會(huì)習(xí)慣性地跟老師說“thank you “。回答“thank you “時(shí)，中國人往往會(huì)說“這是我應(yīng)該做的。”，把這句話直譯過來就是“It’s my duty. ”，這會(huì)讓英美學(xué)很困惑，也很不愉快，因?yàn)?ldquo;It’s my duty. ”的含意是：我本不想做，但這是我的職責(zé)，我不得不做。這就是中西方思維的差異。適當(dāng)?shù)幕卮饝?yīng)該是“It’s my pleasure.（我很樂意）”，“Don’t mention it .（沒什么）”“You’re welcome . （不用謝）”。
