good riddance表示因擺脫了令人討厭的人或事而感到喜悅，相當于總算擺脫了。另一個相關的表達是good riddance to bad rubbish,表示總算甩掉了無用的東西。

‘I’ve just heard that John Black is leaving the firm 。’‘Well ,good riddance! I never liked him.’
