經(jīng)常看好萊塢電影的朋友一定熟悉son of a bitch這句臟話(huà)。雖說(shuō)美國(guó)比較注重議論自由，但傳媒的控制尺度還是很緊的，bitch在很多情況下就不可以使用。這個(gè)時(shí)候son of a gun就有“用武之地”了。

簡(jiǎn)單地說(shuō)，son of a gun就是son of a bitch的委婉用語(yǔ)，一樣起罵人的作用，但不算臟話(huà)。舉例如下：

Shannon: Brian told everybody that he led the team to victory . (Shannon: Brian告訴大家是他帶領(lǐng)隊(duì)伍取得了勝利。)

Louuse: Son of a gun! He did absolutely nothing, and he had the nerve to take all the credit? (louise:這個(gè)家伙！他啥事也沒(méi)做，居然有臉說(shuō)勝利是他的功勞？)

除了罵人泄憤之外，son of a gun還有其他的英語(yǔ)用法，可以抒發(fā)不同的情緒。最常見(jiàn)的有三種：

1）它可以用作對(duì)某人的閑暇稱(chēng)呼。這和中文里用罵人的話(huà)作閑暇稱(chēng)呼有異曲同工之妙。比如父母會(huì)叫自己的女兒“死丫頭”，妻子會(huì)叫自己的丈夫“死鬼”等等。舉例如下：

Mom: It’s getting late. Turn off the compiter and go to bed now! (母親：很晚了。關(guān)掉電腦，上床睡覺(jué)！)

Son: Let me finish game. Five munutes tops. Please, please,please?(兒子：讓我打完這個(gè)游戲。最多5分鐘。求求你了，好不好？)

Mom: All right, you son of a gun! （母親：好吧，調(diào)皮鬼！）

2）它可以描述困難、麻煩和討厭的事，帶有不耐煩的情緒。比如：

This project a real son of a gun! So many things need to be taken care of, yet we have so little and money. I want to scream! （這項(xiàng)任務(wù)太討厭了！）

有那么多事要處理，但時(shí)間那么少，預(yù)算又那么緊。我想尖叫！）

3）它可以作為意外、失望和驚訝發(fā)出的感嘆英語(yǔ)解釋。比如：

Andrew: I just heard that our dean died in a car accident. (Andrew: 我剛聽(tīng)說(shuō)教導(dǎo)主任因車(chē)禍身亡。)

Bill: Son of a gun! (Bill:什么？！)
