Paula   Like this…?

Teacher  That’s right. Good.

Paula  Vcan I ask a question?

Teacher  Of course.

Paula  When do you play several notes at the same time? I mean, pianists do that all the time, don’t they? Like this…

Teacher  yes, that’s right. It’s called a chord. Instead of play chords like this…

Paula  I see.

Teacher  But we’ll learn that much later.

Paula  OK.

Teacher  What kind of music do you like, Paula?

Paula  I like pop music best.

Teacher  Do you like folk songs?

Paula  Sometimes.

Teacher  What about classical music? Do you like that?

Paula  I don’t know. I don’t think so.

Teacher  Have you ever been to a classical concert?

Teacher  Well, I think if you went to a concert, you’d like ti. It’s different when you hear a piece of music played byu a live orchestra.

Paula  Oh.

(Jenny 走了進(jìn)來(lái))。

Jenny  How is it going?

Paula:  Great.

Jenny  Roger?

Techer  Fine, I think. She learms very quickly.

Jenny   know.

Teacher  I was just saying. I think Paula should go to ca classical concert.

Jenny   hat sunds like a good idea. If I had been to more concerts when I was younbg., I think I would have tried harder to leam to play an instrument. Teacher  There’s really good concert nest week: Sir Simon Rattle is conducting Beethoven’s ninth symphony.

Jenny   sn’t that a little serious for her first concert?

Teacher  No, I don’t think so.

Jenny  Is the concert in Manchester?

Teacher  No, unfortunately it’s in birmingham, at the Symphony Hail.

Jerny  OK. I’ll get tickets.

Paula  Great!

Teacher  I Don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
