Conversation 1 (會話一)
Kevin: Hello, I’d like to see Mr. Baker for some business.
你好，我有事要見貝克先生。
Joan: What time would you like to see him?

Kevin: Would nine o’clock tomorrow morning be alright.

alright=all right 是非正式用法，意思是：好，是，對，一切正常。用來表示滿意或贊同。如：

I’m afraid not 較為客氣的口語表達法。用來委婉地否定，糾正和駁斥對方。如：
Can you finish the work tomorrow?你能完成這項工作嗎？
I’m afraid not。（我想）恐怕不能。
not…until… 是連用結構。意思是‘直到……時，才……’。

A: Hi, Tom. Want to go and play bowling tonight?
