People have different activities in different seasons. They enjoy the happiness of ice and snow world in winter, going skiing and skating, making snowmen and throwing snowballs at each other. If they dislike the cold ,they go to parks, fly kites, go camping or mountain-climbing. In summer, people enjoy sunshine on the beach, or go swimming. Whatever the season is, people can choose their activities according to their preference.

人們在不同的季節有不同的活動。冬天，人們沉浸在冰雪的世界中，滑雪溜冰，堆雪人，打雪仗。如果怕冷，也可以躲在家里或到暖和的地方去旅游。在春秋天，人們可以有更多的戶外活動，他們去公園、放風到野外宿營或

爬山。夏天，人們可以在海濱享受日光浴，或游泳。不論什么季節，人們都可以根據自己的愛好選擇他們喜歡的活動。

 Background knowledge

     China lies in the temperate zone (位于溫帶) and the climate as a whole is mild, although it varies（變化）from place to place. The monsoon （季風）climate is a distinctive feature (突出的特征)as the mainland (大陸)faces the Pacific. It is summer all the year round on the Leizhou Peninsula(半島)of Guangdong, on the Hainan Island（海南島）and the South China Sea islands（南海群島）。On the other hand. The Heilongjiang area in the northeast has short summer and long winter, where the climate is frigid（嚴寒的）and the snow and ice are everywhere in winter. There are big temperature changes in Xinjiang （新疆）and Gansu（甘肅）in the northwest. Down in Kunming and its surroundings in Yunnan Province in the

Southwest, however, the local people know no hot summer nor cold winter. Kunming is thus called the “ City of Spring”.

     Temperature differs greatly（差別很大）between the north and the south in winter, but not so in summer. Rain coat is a must in the southeast and central south while wind-breaker is a must in the windy north in spring.
