一. 換序譯法
英語和漢語是兩種截然不同的語言, 所以它們的句子的順序有很大的不同。在翻譯過程中, 我們時(shí)常需要改變?cè)脑~語的前后順序。要牢記一點(diǎn), 決不能詞對(duì)詞機(jī)械地死譯。所謂換序譯法, 就是根據(jù)譯文的語言習(xí)慣, 對(duì)原文的詞序進(jìn)行調(diào)整, 使譯文做到最大程度的通順。
1.) About 1840, a canal was constructed across the meadows of the Marsh Farm.
大約在1840年, 橫穿Marsh農(nóng)場修建了一條新的運(yùn)河。(地點(diǎn)狀語提前)
2.) It is good that you are so considerate.
你想得如此周到, 真是太好了。(主語從句提前)
3.) From the moment they set foot on the territory of their motherland, they were warmly received.
從他們踏上祖國土地的那刻起, 他們就受到熱烈的歡迎。 (定語從句提前)
4) Send us any message in case you have any difficulties.
萬一有什么困難, 就給我們來個(gè)信。 (狀語從句提前)
5) 一直在觀看的學(xué)生開始鼓起掌來。
The students who had been watching began to clap their hands。 (定語從句置后)
6) 他每天早上教我們法語。
He teaches us French every morning. (時(shí)間狀語置后)
7) 會(huì)議沒能取得一致意見就結(jié)束了。
The meeting ended in disagreement. (狀語置后)
以上例子表明, 調(diào)整語序是一種極為常用的技巧。 在翻譯過程中, 千萬不能一
詞一個(gè)詞按照原來的順序地翻譯下來。大家還有必要去了解兩種語言句子的
基本順序。
強(qiáng)化練習(xí) 8（ 注意黑體部份順序的變化）
1. 發(fā)生這樣的事不是你的錯(cuò)。
2. 他將永遠(yuǎn)記住家鄉(xiāng)解放的那一天。
3. 另人驚訝的是他竟然放棄升職加薪的機(jī)會(huì)。
4. Some sports stars have become more widely recognized than any national leader other than president.
5. It is not unusual to see a basketball game in which all the players on the floor are black.
6. This is a pleasant thought for those who come here to travel or to work.
二. 斷句譯法
在英語和漢語中, 常會(huì)碰到一些又長又復(fù)雜的句子, 一些同學(xué)碰到這種句子, 就發(fā)怵, 不知從何下手。 為了避免過于復(fù)雜, 這時(shí), 可以采取斷句法, 將復(fù)雜句子分為多個(gè)小分句, 然后進(jìn)行翻譯。 在這一過程中, 要理清分句之間的邏輯關(guān)系, 并且要確定每個(gè)小分句的主語和謂語。試看下面的例子
1. The shark swung over// and the old man saw his eye was not alive //and then he swung over once again,// wrapping himself in tow loops of the rope.
鯊魚翻了過來，老人看見它的眼珠已經(jīng)沒有生氣了，但是它又翻滾了一下，滾得自己給繩子纏了兩圈。
2. It is very easy ((to bring some book from the bookstores and libraries)), //but(( to learn the knowledge in the books)) and ((put the knowledge into practice)) is by no means an easy job.
從書店和圖書館帶一些書回來是輕而易舉的，但是從書中學(xué)得知識(shí)并把這些知識(shí)運(yùn)用到實(shí)踐中去就決不是那么簡單的事了。
3. It is certain //that human beings will conquer the space.
人類必將征服宇宙，這一點(diǎn)是肯定的。
