2) the others 表示兩者以上，指所有其他人。 例：

Only two students in the class handed in their homework, the others forgot to bring the exercise books.

3) others泛指“其他人，其他東西”。 例：      He cares a lot about others.

1) 可用來指人或物，可代替或修飾可數名詞或不可數名詞。例：

       None can help me = No one can help me.

       We had three cats once—none of them are/ is alive now.

2) none作主語，多與of 構成短語 none of。 在答語中，none可單獨使用。　　　　　　
　         Are there any pictures on the wall?　None.
　3) none other than, none but

none other than表示“不是別(或他物)而正是”，none but 表示“只有”。例：

              None but the aged and the sick stayed at home.

              None other than Tom can help us. 

4）no one 和none
　        a) none 后跟of短語，既可指人又可指物，而no one只單獨使用，只指人。

b) none 作主語時，謂語動詞用單，復數均可，而no one作主語謂語動詞只能是單數。None of you could lift it. 你們中沒有人可舉起它。
　---- Did any one call me up just now?　--剛才有人打電話給我嗎?
　---- No one.　　　　　　　　　　　 --沒有。
