從選項看，三題均為時間數字題，而例1和例2是表示一段時間，應該猜出提問的方式是How long…? 或When….? 而例3 則是鐘點時間， 為時間點，不是段，因此問題的提問方式就可能只是When…? 或What time…? 請看它們的錄音原文。
例1：W: How long will it take you to fix my watch?
M: I’ll call you when it’s ready, but it shouldn’t take longer than a week.
Q: When will the woman probably get her watch back?
例2：W: How long have you been in our country?
M: I just arrived two days ago. I will be spending a month here.
Q: When will the man leave?
例3：W: My watch is 8:00 sharp. Is it right?
M: I don’t think so. My watch is 8:10. But it is three minutes fast.
Q: What time is it now?
它們的答案分別B、A 和C。
例4：You read:
A. Twenty dollars. B. Twenty-five dollars.
C. Forty dollars. D. Fifty dollars.
可以從選項就斷定這是一題價格數字題，首先可以考慮到問題十有八九是How much…? 或What price…? 帶問題重點聽清對話中的數字。
M: How much are these sweaters?
W: They are on sale today, sir. Twenty-five dollars each, or two for forty dollars.
Q: How much does one sweater cost?
從對話中得知：每件毛衣25元；若買兩件，只要40元。問題：一件毛衣多少錢？顯然，正確答案是B。
例5：You read:
A. 15. B.25.
C. 35. D.45.
這個例子與前四例又有不同。四個選擇項僅是數字，根本無法確定這題是什么類型的數字題，從而也很難預測問題將是哪方面的，這是數字計算題中最難的試題。那么，如何對付這種試題呢？聽錄音時重點要抓住以下四個方面：數字；數字的內容；答話，即第二個說話者所講的話；問題。請看錄音原文：
M: How many people will be coming to the meeting?
W: We had to cross off fifteen names from our original list of fifty.
Q: How many people will attend the meeting now?
從男士講的話中知道這其實是一題關于人數的數字計算題，是多少人來參加會議；從女士的話中知道要從原先的50人的名單中劃去15人。據此，便可算出有35人來參加會議，正確的答案是C。
l 判斷題
這類題型的宗旨是根據男女說話這間的情景對話，迅速而又準確地判斷出說話者間的關系、身份以及他們所處的時間、地點或他們的職業等。解這種題總的方法有三點：
1）根據四個選項，預測提問的可能方式；
2）根據四個選項的意思，重點聽清與此有關的信息詞；
3）準確判斷對話主題。
請看下面幾例，觀察解題方法和技巧。
例1：You read:
A. In a restaurant. B. At the railway station.
C. In the post office. D. At the airport.
四個選項表明，這是一題與地點有關的判斷題。由此，可以猜到，問題可能是Where…? 或What place…? 的句式。聽錄音時，要重點聽清關鍵詞，判明主題，確定地點，選出答案。請看原文：
