On shooting
Peter joined the army when he was eighteen, and for several months he was taught how to be a good soldier. He did quite well in everything except shooting.
One day he and his friends were practicing their shooting quite well except peter. After he had shot the target nine times and had not hit it once, the officer was very angry and said,“you’re quite hopeless, peter! Don't; waster your last bullet too! Go behind that wall and shoot yourself with it!”
Peter felt ashamed.He went behind the wall, and a few seconds later the officer and the other young soldiers heard the sound of a shoot.
“Heavens!” the officer said, “has that foolish man really shot himself?” He ran behind the wall anxiously, but peter was all rigth, “I’m sorry, sir!” he said, “but I missed again.”

彼得18歲時(shí)參軍，頭幾個(gè)月他一直學(xué)習(xí)如何做一個(gè)好的士兵。除了射擊，他一切做得都很好。一天，他和他的朋友們正在練習(xí)射擊，除了彼得他們都射擊得很好。他打靶打了九次，可一次也沒打中，教官十分生氣，說“彼得，你沒有希望了！不要再浪費(fèi)最后一顆子彈了！去墻后面，用它打自己吧！”

“天哪！”教官說，“那個(gè)笨蛋真的朝自己開槍了？”他急忙跑到墻后面，而彼得還好好的，“對不起，長官！”他說，“我又失手了”
